Women in Beer are re-opening applications for their mentorship programme, open for the third cohort from today until Sunday, 9th March.

The successful applicants will have a chance to be paired with one of the Women in Beer Mentors. They will be able to join a WhatsApp community as well as access online and in-person networking events throughout the year.
The new cohort will also have a chance to get their WSET Qualification Level 1 in Beer as part of the programme.
“We wanted to offer a comprehensive programme for our mentees, combining personal advice, learning, and networking,” said Amelie Tassin, founder of Women in Beer.
“We are very proud to count the WSET as our education partner for the second year, adding for our mentees a qualification that will give them more confidence in their everyday life.
“We are very proud that 100% of the mentees who took the exam last year got their qualification and believe that it is an essential part of the programme.”
Gold sponsor Simpsons Malt will also welcome the mentees for a day visit at their malting plant of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Simpsons Malt chair and marketing director, Richard Simpson, said: “As a business, we’re always keen to support projects that promote learning and development with the brewing industry and, in its first year, the Women In Beer mentorship programme did just that.
“As a result, we’re delighted to be sponsoring this initiative again in 2025, and we hope the mentees all enjoy being part of another successful programme.”

Amelie added: “The on-site visit is a fantastic opportunity for our mentees to know more about the industry they work in, but also to meet with their peers, and build long-lasting relationships.
“The expenses related to the visit are entirely covered by the programme as we want to make sure we are truly inclusive, and our mentees can access the event without having to worry about costs.”
Women in Beer had an eventful 2024, culminating in the Women in Beer Festival at the end of October. With the relaunch of their mentorship programme, the community group are taking their first step in an ambitious programme for 2025.
This year will see the launch of Women in Beer’s networking events across the UK, as well as the first staging of the Women in Beer Awards. Open to all women working in the industry across the UK, the awards will recognise exceptional achievements in fields including brewing, marketing, and communication.
If you’d like to become a sponsor of the programme, you can contact the organisers at hello@womeninbeer.co.uk or become a Patreon for as little as £4.50 per month.
As International Women’s Day approaches on 8th March, Women in Beer’s founder is calling on the brewing industry to take meaningful action. Rather than limiting support to a single day, breweries and industry leaders should invest in organisations that work year-round to create real change and improve gender equality in beer, she says.
