Pastore Brewing & Blending has unveiled two new beers which are, surprisingly for those who know the brewer, not in the slightest bit sour.
Step forward a light and drinkable table beer Denari (3% ABV), brewed with coriander and dry-hopped with Nelson Sauvin. Expect notes of orange, white grape, and coriander.
Cambridgeshire-based Pastore have extended their lager programme with a North German-style pilsner, Schäfer Pils (5% ABV). There’s a crisp punchy bitterness with hop character from the German Mittelfrüh varieties. “We lager the beer for eight weeks, ensuring a delicate and very clean taste,” says the brewer.
Of course, there has to be a sour release and that’s 4.5% ABV Del Yuzu. Late last year, Pastore got together with London’s Gravity Well and made a triple-fruited gose with sea salt, coriander, and loads of blackberries, plums and yuzu. “We always love the salty kick from a well-made gose, and this one certainly delivers,” says the brewer.
