Having acquired The New Inn, in Harborne, Birmingham, in May last year, Joule’s Brewery has now submitted plans to give the venue a new lease of life.

The New Inn Harborne

Joule’s will be working on reviving some of the history of the pub, using reclaimed bricks and panelling among other materials.

“Our aim is to make it feel more comfortable and inviting, with plenty of seating for those casual drinks with friends or a hearty meal with family,” says the brewer. The kitchen will be upgraded in preparation for Joule’s classic, simple, and well-done pub menu to be served. And, of course, there will be Joule’s ales on tap.

Outside, there will be refreshed landscaping and lighting, and comfortable seating to make the space enjoyable year-round.

“The New Inn is a special site and one that we are very proud to now call a Joule’s Brewery Taphouse,” said development director Anna Brakel.

“We are committed to bringing Joule’s Brewery to Birmingham and are pleased to reveal that this will be our biggest investment in a Taphouse to date. It’s key for us to share our plans with locals and engage them in this process.”

Joule’s will be hosting a public consultation evening on Thursday, 16th January, from 5pm to 7pm at the pub. Team members will be on hand to field questions locals may have.
