The beers, in bottles and cans, were judged earlier this month. Stubblestag’s win will see it go through to the SIBA Beer Awards final in Liverpool in March.

“We are delighted that we were judged to be in the top beers produced in the region and to continue our proud run of representing craft beer from Norfolk,” said Moon Gazer Ales owner David Holliday.

“It’s also testament of how Moon Gazer’s move into gluten-free lagers has not only opened up a new market but also held the quality. Our gluten-free beers are effectively produced in the same way as all our beer, but the addition of a clearing agent reduces the gluten levels, which has introduced a whole new audience to our beers.”

He added: “Stubblestag is particularly pleasing as it was one of the first beers we ever produced and has been a feature of our brewery and the Norfolk lager scene for many years.

“To be awarded the category champion against such a strong line-up of top brewers was amazing. We take great pride in our craft beers and just love the fact that we are able to fly the flag for Norfolk, our home county of which we are so proud.”
