Greene King Pub Partners has raised more than £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support by hosting an industry five-a-side football tournament.

The event was hosted at St Georges Park, the FA’s National Football Centre, near Burton-Upon-Trent. In total, 14 teams from across the beer and pub industry took part. It was sponsored by Carling.

A team from industry supplier Softcat — an IT infrastructure firm — were crowned champions after 14 matches and a thrilling final.

“We’re delighted to have raised over £5,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support,” said James Pearson, a business development manager for Greene King Pub Partners, who organised the event.

!This tournament has also been a great opportunity to get members of our industry together over such an important cause. Thank you so much to everyone who participated, and the team at Carling for helping make it happen!”
