Great Newsome Brewery has announced the death of Lareunce Hodgson, a director of the business, at the age of 73, after a short illness.
Laurence was a devoted husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, colleague, and a friend to many, said a spokesperson for the brewery.
He was a great source of encouragement in the development of the brewery and was immensely proud of what had been achieved there, as well as across the wider farming business.
“Forever a farmer at heart, in recent years he loved being part of the team here at Great Newsome Brewery, whether giving feedback on a new beer, attending farmers’ markets, or overseeing the packing of online sales.”
A service to celebrate his life will be held at St Patrick’s Church, Patrington, on Wednesday, 2nd October, at 2.15pm, for those who would like to attend. Family flowers only, please. Donations, if desired, to St, Patrick’s Church and Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of his sister, Mary.
Great Newsome Brewery will be closed on that day, but back open as normal on 3rd October.
