Urban Pubs & Bars is opening The Wren Tavern this week, a venue in the shadow of St Paul’s Cathedral, London, paying tribute to its famous architect.

The traditional London pub, on Watling Street, features an exclusive whiskey lounge and a speakeasy cocktail bar, called 5cc, in the basement.

“When Sir Christopher Wren designed St Paul’s Cathedral, his plans were made on Watling Street, his workers lived, ate, and spent their time on this street, too,” said a spokesperson for Urban Pubs & Bars.

“In a tribute to the man himself, The Wren Tavern brings the best of traditions to a city pub environment.”

With two floors, two private rooms, and plenty of bookable booths, the pub has space for a variety of events, from client meetings to birthday parties or just after-work drinks.

It’s not all about tradition, though — Thursday nights will see the in-house DJ pumping out tunes!
