Following tastings at the London Craft Beer Festival, Peckham-based Brick Brewery has now officially launched two new sour beers.
Citrus Blast Kettle Sour (3.4% ABV) is available in keg and 330ml can formats. The brew sees yuzu, mandarin, and grapefruit come together for a sour citrus sensation. It is made with a house lactobacillus culture to give it a balanced sour taste.
Raspberry and Basil Kettle Sour (3.3% ABV), available in the same formats, uses sweet and tangy raspberries which dance on the palate before basil notes jump in with grassy green menthol bitter notes.
“We’re thrilled to launch these new sour beers to our customers old and new, and were over the moon with their initial success on debut at London Craft Beer Festival – we saw plenty of customers coming back for seconds!” said Brick Brewery brand manager Sally Stewart.
“A lot of hard work has gone into creating both new beers, which represents our commitment to pushing boundaries and delivering exceptional flavours. We love to work collaboratively at the brewery, and so it was a team effort from ideation to recipe development, and ultimately creation.”
Brick Brewery worked with illustrator Tor Ewen, whose work focuses on graphic shapes and vivid colours, on the design of both Citrus Blast Kettle Sour and Raspberry and Basil Kettle Sour cans.
Each of Brick’s sours are available at the Brewery’s Peckham Rye-based taproom. They are also at a number of London pubs and bottle shops, including Ghost Whale, The Lord Napier, The Rusty Bucket, and Hops and Cans.
