Bob Chard, former national sales manager at St Austell Brewery, is joining the Cask Marque account management team with a focus on brewer and retail engagement.

He will be working alongside current key account manager, Sophie Braybrooke, over the next few months to establish working relationships with corporate members and ensure a smooth transition to his new role.

As well as looking after corporate members in the South of England, Sophie is also the chief executive of Cask Marque’s sister company, Stay in a Pub Ltd.

Recent investment in this online platform for pubs with accommodation, and the industry shift towards a focus on this important third revenue stream, will require Sophie to spend more time directing that element of the business in the next stage of its development.

“Our industry is still, fortunately, about people, and over the years Bob has earned the respect of many of his colleagues in the business, and especially about beer,” said Cask Marque founder Paul Nunny.

“He will be a great addition to our team as we champion beer either through education or commercial benefits.”

Bob added: “Quality is always the starting point for our industry, whether in production, presentation, or service standards, and Cask Marque is at the forefront of these important elements for our sector.”
