Overtone has collaborated with alcohol-free specialists We Can Be Friends on Substitute, a 0.5% ABV hazy pale ale. Overtone’s debut non-alcoholic beer is hopped with Motueka Cryo, Motueka, Superdelic, and Citra Spectrum.
Holy Goat Brewing has a trio of new beers for July. Altar of Plagues (5.9% ABV) is a mixed culture sour with British chuckleberries. The beer was blended from an even split of four-month-old golden and amber base beers, both primary fermented with super berry and citrus-forward Brettanomyces strains. This blend was transferred to 200g/l of whole British-grown chuckleberries and aged for an additional month. Mangonaut (5.5% ABV) has been fermented for three months before refermenting and conditioning on 200g/l of Indian Alfonso mangos. Finally, Double Oat Stout (8.4% ABV) has been brewed with locally-sourced Gloagburn farm rolled oats, grown 22 miles from the brewery, and Golden Naked Oats, from Simpsons Malt, which are lightly caramelised, providing a nutty creamy character.
