Brewer and retailer Brew York has been appointed to run Goole’s Market Hall, a vibrant food hall and events venue in the Yorkshire town.
Brew York succeeded in a formal tendering process. It already operates taprooms and bars at venues in York, Leeds, Otley, Pocklington, Guiseley, and Knaresborough, and will now be bringing its popular combination of craft beer and street food to Goole.
In addition to the food and drink offering from Brew York, the refurbished Market Hall will also offer flexible space for local creative and craft businesses, and host events of both a commercial and community nature to generate an income.
“We are really excited to be part of this amazing scheme,” said Brew York managing director, Wayne Smith. “We have been working closely with the Goole Town Deal team since the back end of 2023 to ensure that we transform the Market Hall into a hub for the town to draw more people out and create a vibrant destination for everyone to enjoy.
“We can’t wait to bring our experience in events and entertaining to the town, and bring along our friends to serve up some of the best brews and local street food in the country.”
Brew York has also announced a new beer, a collaboration with Salford’s Seven Bro7hers Brewing Co. Curant Affairs is a 4% ABV vanilla and blackcurrant sour which is available exclusively in the Seven Bro7hers webshop.
Keith McAvoy, chief executive of Seven Bro7hers, said: “At the heart of our brewery is collaboration. Craft brewing should be an explorative and social experience. It has been wonderful to welcome the guys from Brew York to Salford to brew Currant Affairs.
“As a team it is so important we work with new expertise and ultimately share in the enjoy of making craft beer. This sour has given our brewing team the opportunity to collaborate with a team who are equally passionate about making great tasting beer. Everyone must try it, it’s totally unique and addictively drinkable.”
This is the first to two beers which the brewers will be collaborating on this year.
