Little Earth Project brewery are preparing to host their third annual Little Earth Fest at the Edwardstone White Horse Inn, in Suffolk, this weekend.
It brings together producers of mixed fermentation and wild ales and ciders from across the country. They use varying methods of natural fermentation, foraging, barrel ageing, and blending, as well as historical and modern practices, to create interesting beers and ciders.
Little Earth Project is a small brewery that only produces beers using wild yeasts sourced from the skins of apples of a cider it also produces. These beers tend to have many shared characteristics of dry ciders, or even wines, and beers similar to this have been made in Belgium for centuries.
As well as always having a few keg lines and bottles at the White Horse Inn, they regularly ship their small-batch beers across the UK and have exported to countries such as Italy, Belgium, Poland, Norway, and the Netherlands.
Little Earth Project was founded on the premise of producing beers with a link to the countryside that surround the brewery, rather than seeing brewing as an industrial process. The festival will be showcasing brewers with a similar ethos.
The festival will take place over Friday, 5th, and Saturday, 6th July, with the festival tent open from noon until 9pm. The pub will be open as usual, offering a selection of other drinks, sourdough pizza, cheese and charcuterie boards, and snacks. There will be different food trucks visiting over the weekend. A shuttle service will be running to and from Sudbury train station throughout the day.
