West Dorset CAMRA members Bruce Mead and Dave Harris are undertaking a sponsored walk — via pubs, of course — to raise funds for Dorchester Arts.
Bruce and Dave on the first stage of their walk this weekend
“As some of you will know, Dave Harris and I walk for miles through the Dorset countryside, usually to reach a pub!” said Bruce, whose is chair of the West Dorset CAMRA branch.
“To take this to the next level, over the next few months we will be walking to a pub in each of the four counties that border Dorset. We will finish by walking to the pub closest to my house in Dorchester.”
Dorchester Arts run weekly Art for Memory classes in Sherborne, designed for people experiencing the early stages of memory loss. Run by an experienced tutor alongside a support worker, each week new creative skills are enjoyed. These include different methods of printmaking, watercolour painting, clay work, and collage. Plus, there is always time for tea, coffee, biscuits and a jolly good chat!
Bruce and Dave want to raise enough money to enable Dorchester Arts to start up a similar class in Dorchester.
