The Isle of Arran Brewery and Lochranza Distillery are celebrating the continuation of a close friendship, forged over several years.

Every year, the distillery allows the brewery to use of a few of its used whisky casks as an early Christmas present. Which whisky has been aged in each cask is always kept a close secret, so as not to spark jealousy! Arran Brewery then uses these casks to create its whisky cask-aged Special Reserve beers.

This year, after receiving three casks, the brewer invited Lochranza Distillery manager Stewart Bowman down to try the product of their friendship for himself, and to present him with his own bottle of each of the Special Reserve beers.

“We’ve always got on really well with everyone at Lochranza, so it’s always lovely to be able to produce something together with them every year,” said Yorick Hinchliffe, retail manager at Arran Brewery.

“After we tried this year’s’s batches, we knew Stewart had given us some really special casks and my first thought was to get him down here at the brewery and have him taste them for himself!”
