Verdant Brewing Co has launched a new series of beers under the Small Batch Project (SBP) label, and first out of the blocks is a single-hop red IPA.
As part of the New Zealand Bract Brewing Programme, Verdant has access to a number of experimental hops. Among these is NZH-105, which makes its debut in this beer in a huge dry hop addition.
“The idea for SBP was to convey creativity and freedom in the liquid, as well as the package,” says Verdant. “Our creative designer, James, worked on a brand new visual identity for the project, and we’re also using paper labels, working with a local printer, keeping it local and reducing carbon footprint is an added cherry on top.
“With Small Batch Project, we are taking inspiration from our past by utilising the smaller 20hl tanks from our old brewing site. We are actively involving the Verdant team across the whole creation process of each release, seeking opportunities to try new ingredients, new processes, and brewing beer styles we don’t usually make.”
