Greene King is bringing back two seasonal beers — Spring Break and Hopping Special — after they proved popular with drinkers in previous years.

Greene King Spring Hopping

Spring Break is a full-bodied 4.4% ABV ale with a balance of citrus flavours and malt character. It was created in 2022 through a partnership between Greene King and the National Brewing Apprentice Programme, called Future Brewers, which offered students the chance to be involved with the process of creating the beer.

A new addition to the calendar last year, Hopping Special is a 4.2% ABV amber ale. It incorporates the process of late hopping, to really enhance the fruity flavours. Greene King took inspiration for the name from the train service put on for hop-picking families in the 19th and 20th century.

“It is great to see Spring Break and Hopping Special appearing as our seasonals for spring as we know they are well liked by drinkers,” said head brewer Jack Palmer.

“Both cask ales are limited brews for 2024 and they won’t be around for long.”
