Yorkshire brewery T&R Theakston has teamed up with PerfectDraft to make pub quality pints of its Old Peculier available to be enjoyed at home.
Old Peculier, a 5.6% ABV dark ruby red ale with tasting notes of black cherry and banana, is in six-litre mini-kegs, compatible with PerfectDraft’s at home draught-style machines, for the first time.
“Whilst we remain committed to championing the Great British pub and its role within the community, we continue to see growing numbers of drinkers who want to also be able to enjoy our beers at home,” said Richard Bradbury, managing director of Theakston’s Brewery.
“It’s important for us to provide our loyal customers with a great pint wherever and however they choose to drink Theakston beers, and PerfectDraft enables us to extend our off-trade range and offer the perfect pour at home.
“The reception so far has been brilliant, achieving a sell-out launch with 2,000 kegs sold in under 24 hours.”
Chairman of T&R Theakston, Simon Theakston, added: “With such a long legacy behind it, Old Peculier is a truly iconic beer and we are very proud of the strong following it has garnered, not just in the UK, but across the world.
“We’re excited to be working with PerfectDraft on Old Peculier in the first instance and hope to extend this collaboration across more of our beers in the near future.”
