It’s On the Ball, a Norfolk-based male cancer charity, has been boosted by the appointment of two new trustees, including a fundraising champion of a brewer.

David Holliday, who runs Moon Gazer Ales with his wife, Rachel, is a long-time supporter of the charity. He has undertaken massive beer barrel pushes, which have raised more than £40,000.

Moon Gazer makes a January special beer, Tobi’s Tipple, sold in pubs across Norfolk and Suffolk, with the aim of getting young men talking about testicular cancer.

“I will use my role as a trustee to continue fundraising and awareness, but I also hope to bring some additional business and marketing experience to help the charity,” said David.

The other new trustee is Joanne Jennings, a clinical nurse specialist at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, where she supports patients with a diagnosis of testicular cancer.

“I’m delighted that Jo and David have joined our board of trustees, and I look forward to working with them in the future,” said Vince Wolverson, chief executive of It’s On The Ball.

“As a small charity, we rely on the knowledge and expertise of our trustees to ensure the charity runs efficiently and complies with the Charities Commission regulations.

“Jo’s experience as an Ooncology nurse and David’s business background will be invaluable in ensuring we use the funds and donations we receive wisely to meet our charitable aims of raising awareness of testicular cancer, and support those diagnosed with the disease and their families.

“To have two supporters who have direct experience of our work and share our passion to save lives and raise awareness join our existing board will be a great asset to the charity going forward.”
