The Campaign for Pubs has announced its #Pubruary campaign, urging us all to visit our local during one of the toughest months of the year for licensees.

Pubruary

The campaign is suggesting that people get out and support their pubs as often as they can. We need to remember the importance of pubs, and of publicans and pub staff, all of whom work hard all year to serve customers and communities.

“It’s no exaggeration to say that pubs are faced with the most challenging times they have faced ever, with the deepest cost-of-living crisis in recent memory following on straight after the unprecedented Covid-19 pandemic and successive lockdowns,” said campaign director, Greg Mulholland, in a recent press article.

“Pubs had hardly opened again and had just begun trying to pay off Covid loans when energy bills soared and inflation spiralled, and pub customers themselves had less money to spend.”

It’s a long way to Easter, and for many pubs February can be even quieter than January. So let’s make sure we’re supporting our locals whenever we can.
