Nirvana, the dedicated no-/low-alcohol brewery, has launched its first crowdfunding campaign via Seedrs, and also hired a new head brewer.
The crowdfunder, launching on 1st February, follows the success of a private raise of £750,000.00 in 2023. The business has seen a 16% year-on-year increase in annual revenue, with a 43% rise in December.
Nirvana, which has been based in East London since 2016, intends to use the additional funds to drive both retail and on-trade distribution, as well as increased marketing and direct to consumer activity.
New head brewer James Rabagliati has a decade-long career in brewing, working for some of the UK’s fastest-growing breweries. He joins from Brew by Numbers, following stints at Hammerton and Truman’s.
“Every beer style requires a different approach, but in no and low there’s very little room to hide!” he said. “I’m seriously looking forward to exploring the massive potential in this category, especially given the leaps forward there’s been in hop processing of late.”
Becky Kean, founder and brand ambassador at Nirvana, said: “2023 was something of a breakthrough year for us. Not only did we complete our biggest-ever fundraising, but we secured significant on-trade distribution and strengthened our presence in retail.
“Across both channels we’ve demonstrated an exceptional high rate of returning customers, which only bodes well for the future. We’re delighted to have James on board, as well as welcoming our new individual investors.”
