Arkell’s has revealed the 2024 specials coming from its brewhouse, with new one-off specials alongside some returning favourites.

Arkell's beer releases

Sir Noel Ale is a Christmas must-have, says the brewer, and Spring Hopper has also cemented itself as a regular seasonal favourite.

But Arkell’s kicks off the year with Kingsdown making a comeback. First brewed in the late 1960s, and once a staple feature at Arkell’s, locally this one is always extremely popular.

There are three new recipes for 2024. First up is Summer Saison, a style utilising wild, natural yeasts, giving the beer spicy and intense fruity flavours.

Then, towards the end of the year, it will be time for Winter Warmer. This beer will be chocolaty, velvety, and indulgent — perfect for sipping by pub fires.  To add a twist to this dark stout, some chocolate orange will be introduced.

Between the two seasonal brews will be a collaboration with family member Johnny Arkell at Donnington Brewery. The beer will be a German dark lager, a dunkel. Donnington’s unique spring water gives its beers a distinctive character, hopefully replicated in this new brew.
