Wriggle Valley Brewery, in Stalbridge, Dorset, has announced that its latest brew of flagship beer Dorset Pilgrim was its last ever brew.
Owner Matthew Glide, who bought the brewery in 2020, announced on social media yesterday that the business was closing. Reasons are not given, although it’s well known that many brewers are struggling with ingredient, energy, and business rates costs.
“I’ll be here until the end of February before shutting up shop,” said Matt. “Still serving beer by the pint or takeaway (until you drink it all!). But come March, there will be no brewery in Stalbridge.
“Thank you for your continued support, and I’ll let you know when we have a ‘drink the place dry’ week. I mean, after all this time I might at least be able to organise a piss-up in a brewery.”
