Initially brewed in 2018 as a Tryanuary experiment, Brew York’s Empress Tonkoko annual release is back with five great beers on offer.
Since its release, Empress Tonkoko has gained notoriety as one of the best beers to wait for from Brew York, being released just once a year.
Using huge amounts of malt, coconut, cacao, and vanilla, mixed with tonka, the beer is rich and luxurious. It comes in at a warming 10.6% ABV.

Flux 27: Heaven Hill barrel-aged imperial milk stout
Heaven Hill bourbon barrels were selected to add a caramel sweetness, subtle rye spice, and rich oak, for added depth.
Flux 28: Rum barrel-aged imperial milk stout
Rum barrels give flavours of rich oak as well as warm molasses and rich burnt sugars.
Flux 29: Rye whiskey barrel-aged imperial milk stout
The whiskey adds molasses, spice, and rich oak.
Flux 30: Highland whiskey barrel-aged imperial milk stout
Highland whisky adds sweet notes of caramel, butterscotch, and rich oak.
