Gipsy Hill Brewing Co has opened its crowdfunding campaign to the public as it seeks to become a carbon neutral brewery without offsets.
The campaign, on Seedrs, looks to fund the overhauling of key areas of the brewery’s infrastructure to help it achieve its big sustainability target.
“This summer we released what we believe to be the world’s first carbon-negative beers without using offsets — the culmination of a project that lasted 24 months,” says the brewer in its pitch.
“We believe that we can become the world’s first carbon-negative brewery without offsets — truly sustainable and regenerative brewing from the heart of London.
“Strong sustainability credentials will soon be table stakes for any large FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) deals, and we believe that by making us the most sustainable brewing business in the world, we are increasing our potential for the growth of the business.”
