Celebrating the expansion news at Joule’s Brewery

Since launching in 2010, Joule’s has established a taphouse estate across Shropshire, Staffordshire, Cheshire, and Wales. It currently has 44 pubs.

Two years ago, Crown Wharf, in Stone, opened its doors, celebrating the brewery’s heritage in its original hometown and on original brewery land.

Anna Brakel, brand development director at Joule’s, said: “I am thankful to Admiral Taverns for hearing our case and
allowing us the opportunity to develop our brewery land, which has successfully resulted in the purchase of the Stag’s Head, on Great Hale Street, next door to Joule’s Brewery.

“We are delighted that we are able to expand next to an original Joule’s pub and develop further what is already an
iconic landmark for Market Drayton.”

Victoria Colclough, operations director, added: “It’s an exciting day for us to be able to announce this progression for the brewery. We are delighted to be investing in the brewery and creating additional jobs in the town of Market Drayton.

“It also offers us the chance to invest in our flagship taphouse, the Red Lion Inn, which also adjoins the brewery. This investment will give us some vital extra capacity which we need if we are to grow.

“This news also marks our total and unequivocal commitment to Shropshire and to our home town of Market Drayton, some good and welcome news for the hospitality sector.”
