A Verdant and Pressure Drop collaboration celebrates a taproom partnership which has been brought to an unplanned end over lease negotiations.
Their joint taproom, The Experiment, was set in a railway arch in Hackney. It offered 10 draught taps, as well as bottles and cans to drink in or take away.
“Unfortunately, we have not been able to reach an agreement with our landlords regarding a proposed new lease for the arch,” say the brewers. “Over the last five years, we’ve hosted tap takeovers, pop-ups, parties, and running clubs. We’ve operated as a bar, an art gallery, a takeaway shop, and a delivery distribution centre.
“We’ve been truly grateful to work with an incredible team of legends who have kept the wheels turning and the beers flowing (special shout out to Louis, Marine, and Neile).”
The end of the era is marked with, what else, a collaboration IPA. The Experiment Requires a Conclusion is a 6% ABV brew “highly hopped” with Citra, Galaxy, and Nectaron.
Also new from Verdant this week is a second collaboration with Green Cheek Beer Co, based in Orange, Calfornia. Cheeky Westy is a West Coast IPA inspired by the IPAs Green Cheek are producing in the US.
“Hopped with Mosaic, Chinook, and Nectaron, expect a super pale, crisp, and hoppy Westy, perfect for the summer days,” say the brewers. “Close your eyes, take a sip, and just pretend you’re in sunny California for a few minutes!”
