Tickets are selling fast for this year’s Shropshire Oktoberfest, which will be held in Shrewsbury’s Quarry on 6th and 7th October.
This year the organisers are adding a beer tasting workshop with beer writer Laura Hadland. She will lead a tasting on the Friday evening of the festival, which will feature locally-produced ales.
“As always, there will be no mainstream rubbish at Shropshire Oktoberfest!” said Beth Heath, director of fun at Shropshire Festivals.
“Instead, you can buy your beers, ciders, and spirits directly from the people who make it, soaking in their expertise as well as enjoying quality tipples.”
The Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) will be running the Hopportunity Bar, with its top picks and unusual choices, which usually include vegan and gluten-free options. There will also be a ‘Shropshire’s Choice’ beer of the festival chosen.
The live music stage will host local bands, alongside Vorsprung Durch Oompah, who will provide the traditional German accompaniment. There will also be live comedy.
