Amberley Publishing has revealed the latest title in its popular pub series, focusing on the watering holes of Greenwich, in London.

Greenwich Pubs

The history of Greenwich is inseparable from its maritime history and royal palace. In later years, industries have built up along the River Thames frontage, including the massive power station behind London’s tram and underground systems. Today, the old industrial area on the peninsula in East Greenwich is home to the O2 dome.

In Greenwich Pubs, author David C Ramzan takes the reader on a fascinating journey around the area’s hostelries, many of which have retained features and traditions from previous ages. The book, set to be published on 15th September, is brimming with quirky tales and fascinating facts.

David Ramzan studied local history as an undergraduate at the University of Oxford. He has written and illustrated a series of books on topics including football, pirates, and cookery, as well as researching the history and heritage of his local area, Greenwich.

A self-employed graphic designer, illustrator, and artist, he also worked in special educational needs. He has written several historical publications and articles for magazines and periodicals, on subjects including local, maritime, and football history, and piracy, smuggling, and Victorian crime.
