Horsforth Brewery is to host its fourth beer festival across the forthcoming bank holiday weekend, from Friday to Sunday, 25th-27th August.

The event will include beers from Horsforth Brewery’s own range, ginger beer specialist DMC, The Meanwood Brewery, Grumpy Jon’s Cider, Docks Beers, and local bottleshop The Hoptimist. The latter will be bringing a selection of great American beers.

“We absolutely love hosting our beer festivals,” said Mark Costello, owner of Horsforth Brewery. “It’s a great opportunity for local breweries to showcase their products in Horsforth, and to bring beer into Horsforth that’s not normally available.”

Alongside its usual range of beers, Horsforth will have new beers from its Icon Series — a range of beers created by staff at the brewery. The series is a celebration of the creativity and passion of the team, showcasing their favourite beer styles, from hoppy IPAs to imperial stouts. It was launched earlier in the year at the brewery’s Easter beer festival.

The festival will have four sessions: Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and evening, and Sunday afternoon. Recognising the cost of living crisis, organisers have tried to keep costs down for attendees. Two types of tickets are being offered — one which gets visitors a glass to use at the festival and take home, or if they’ve attended a previous Horsforth Brewery festival, they can bring their own glass and, in return for the entrance price, receive two half-pint tokens.

Mark said: “We know times are hard for so many people right now, and want to make it easier for people to attend the festival. We also know that people’s glass cupboards are probably bursting from the amount of festival glasses they’ll have accumulated over the years — I know mine is — so if they’d rather bring one of the glasses from one of our previous festivals we’re delighted to accommodate that.”

As well as beers from the visiting breweries, there will be live music on the Friday and Saturday sessions, and food from Meanwood Pizza. Under-18s are welcome to attend when accompanied with responsible adults, but must leave the premises by 9pm. For more information and to buy tickets, click here.
