Weymouth Octoberfest will be returning to the town’s Pavilion on 6th and 7th October, and this year there will be a Welsh beer and cide theme.

West Cornwall CAMRA

Organised by members of the West Dorset branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), the event is being held in the Pavilion’s Ocean Room, which has spectacular views of Weymouth Bay.

“Weymouth Octoberfest gives us a chance to bring something different to Weymouth every year,” said committee member and CAMRA bar manager Rich Gabe.

“Over the years we have covered the full length of the British Isles, from beers from Cornwall to Scotland, and this year it’s the turn to highlight Wales.”

The festival hopes to have around 60 Welsh beers and at least a dozen ciders. This is by far the largest selection of Welsh beers ever to be showcased in Dorset, says CAMRA.

For the first time at a West Dorset CAMRA event, there will be a Welsh guest brewer, who will also be showing some interesting new style craft beers from the Vale of Glamorgan Brewery.

Entry is by advance ticket only, which cost £11 per session and which include a free pint of beer or cider, a souvenir glass, and a programme.

Sessions run on both days between 11am and 4pm and 6.30pm and 11.30pm, with entertainment in the evening sessions.
