Martin Ward, of Norwich and District CAMRA, presented the certificate for the Norfolk branches’ Pub of the Year. It was received by the pub’s Oscar Gerdes, who also accept the Cider Pub of the Year award from CAMRA regional director Andrea Briers.

A real favourite with ale and cider drinkers alike, The White Lion describes itself as ‘a village pub in the city’.

“We are ecstatic to receive these awards!” said Oscar. “With so many great pubs in Norwich, it’s a great accolade.”

Ian Stamp, Norwich and District CAMRA chair, said: “I would like to congratulate Oscar and his team. Getting through each round to then go on to win the Norfolk and East Anglian finals demonstrates the time and commitment the team have invested in looking after its customers and the drinks they offer.”
