Edinburgh will become the Craft Beer Capital of Scotland on 29th and 30th September with the arrival of the first ever Gravity Beer Festival.

Gravity Beer Festival

Created by the teams behind Barney’s Beer and Summerhall, Edinburgh’s pioneering arts village, the beer festival will welcome 15 breweries from all around the UK. Sixty lines of beer and cider will pour during the four festival sessions, from Friday afternoon to Saturday evening.

From The Kernel to Attic Brew Co, several renowned UK craft breweries have already confirmed their presence in the Scottish capital, along with local stars like Campervan Brewery.

“In the last few years, local beer festivals have been a little thin on the ground,” said Amber Cordiner, Summerhall’s head of events.

“Considering Summerhall is such a great venue, it was a no-brainer that we needed to put something exciting together with Barney’s Beer. It is a perfect partnership!”

Andrew Barnett (AKA Barney), from Barney’s Beer, added: “We have so many great local brewers, and thought it would be interesting to showcase some great breweries from outside Edinburgh, too. This is hopefully just the beginning for Gravity Beer Festival at Summerhall!”

Local food trucks will be on site to sustain all the hungry guests, and the team is working on arranging a series of lectures for the nerdiest in the crowd.
