Woodforde’s is set to launch a new beer, an English Lager, at next week’s Royal Norfolk Show, following a trial period in a number of pubs.

The golden lager (4.5% ABV) is brewed using a mix of five hops, including Magnum and Citra T90.

“We are thrilled to be launching our new English Lager at this year’s Royal Norfolk Show,” said James Ramm, head of independent on-trade at Woodforde’s.

“We’ve been trialling it at a few select pubs across the county and have received amazing feedback from customers — and now we can’t wait to make it available to everyone at the show.

“Hopefully we are in store for some great weather as this is the perfect refreshing pint to enjoy in the sunshine. Here’s to another special year at our county’s greatest celebration.”

A range of Woodforde’s award-winning cask ales will also be available at the bar, including Wherry and the aptly-named Royal Norfolk seasonal special.

Joe Parks, chief executive of Woodforde’s, said: “Our brewery is all about having pride in our Norfolk heartland, so of course it makes sense to unveil our newest beer at this year’s show. Woodforde’s truly is the beer of Norfolk, and we’re sure we’re onto another winner with our English Lager.”

Fearn Ainsworth, commercial manager at the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, added: “We are delighted that Woodforde’s will be launching their new English Lager at the Royal Norfolk Show.

“Woodforde’s are a local brewery who encompass all things Norfolk and have been a platinum sponsor at the show for two years. We are looking forward to showcasing their fine products and enjoying their latest creation at this year’s show.”
