One of my new year resolutions was to get out more, and this week I’m on my way to Norwich City of Ale, as I prepare to introduce a few changes at Beer Today.

Quick shout out first of all, though, to the Beer Today readership at large, which now numbers more than 90,000 unique users per month. I’m quite proud of this figure and hope you keep supporting the site!

Costing of the magazine, which I announced last month, continues, with a target of the first issue appearing in October. It will be a B5-sized magazine, glossy, with a British beer, pubs, and bars news focus, but also features and event listings. I’m hoping the subscription for six issues a year will be around the £20 mark. There will be a discount for Patreon supporters.

The online Beer Today shop will launch at the start of June. As well as being able to buy beer from Patreon supporter breweries, here you’ll also be able to pick up beer merchandise and other industry items and services. Email me to find out more about the shop.

A bit late to the party, but Beer Today’s now accepting WhatsApp messages and voice notes. The number is 07867 585395. Get in touch with news or events, or if you have found a beer haven, brew, or brewery that you think may be worth shouting about.

Oh, by the way, if you don’t want to commit to being a Patreon supporter, but still love the site and the news content, you can buy me a beer here. Cheers!

Anyway, for the next three days or so I’m off to Norwich, to the City of Ale launch, which I’m pretty excited about. I went to the first one 12 years ago, which is when my interest in British beer was reignited. Beer Today was eight years old at the time and from that point on the content got more frequent.

Bear with me, then, if normal news coverage is more sporadic over the next few days. I’ll do my best to keep the service going as close to normal as possible, though. Even if that is with a Norfolk pint at my side. Keep following my social media, too, to see where I venture to.
