London Craft Beer Festival will be returning to the capital’s Tobacco Dock on 11th and 12th August, celebrating all things craft beer.
Organised by Greg Wells and Dan Sylvester, founders of We Are Beer, the festival will take over both floors of the historic docks. It will feature more than 150 breweries and a record 800 beers. Expect, too, a wide variety of street food, and live music.
Among this year’s extensive list of breweries, expect a strong local showing from some of the city’s most popular producers, such as The Kernel, Gipsy Hill, and Signature Brew, alongside some of the latest emerging talent, including Pretty Decent, Exale, and Mammoth.
There will also be national big hitters like Tiny Rebel, from Wales, Thornbridge, from The Peak District, and Verdant, from Cornwall. For real ale fans, this also marks the return of The Cask Yard, led by pub favourites Timothy Taylor’s, Fullers, and Hepworth.
From further afield, Australia’s Stone & Wood will be turning the open-air roof of the venue into a Byron Beach bar, the Brewers’ Association of America will be bringing an array of craft giants from across the Atlantic to their vault, and for the first time there will be a showcase of French beer from Paris, Lyon, and further afield.
“We’re so proud that the London Craft Beer Festival — even as we go into our second decade — continues to grow and get the support of everyone in the city, as well as attract people from all over the world to celebrate London’s beer scene,” said Greg.
“We’ve always wanted the festival to be for those who love beer, but also those who just like flavour, restaurants, bars, good times, and everything in between. So, we’re excited to see new people every year.
“As craft beer has won the battle against bland, poorly-made commodity beer, it just means the festival keeps getting better. It’s brilliant to take it onto an even bigger scale this year — the restaurant list is something we’re incredibly excited by — as we welcome even more people back to Tobacco Dock, whilst still keeping the experience and magic of the festival at its heart.”
