Return of the King is a new English-hopped, organic brew from Windsor & Eton Brewery, created to mark the Coronation of Charles III.
“Return of the King celebrates King Charles’s lifetime of service to the country and his passionate support of the
environment,” said Windsor & Eton Brewery chairman and co-founder Will Calvert.
“We wanted to mark the occasion by our very first 100% organic beer, brewed here in the heart of Windsor. We’ve created a beautifully balanced recipe, using organic barley from the local Royal Farm and organic English hops.”
The Return ofthe King pumpclip takes one of the most iconic and popular photographs of King Charles and gives it a distinctive Windsor & Eton Brewery twist. Renowned London portrait artist Martin Jessup was commissioned to paint the new king sitting relaxed in ceremonial uniform, surrounded by the birds, butterflies, and bees of his beloved British countryside.
“People were telling us that one of the most surprising aspects of the new monarchy is how strange it felt to be saying or singing ‘the King’ after more than 70 years of ‘the Queen’,” said brewery managing director Jon Radford.
“So we are sure that Return of the King is something that will strike a chord with people in May when they raise a toast to ‘the king’.”
The beer is available in 500ml bottles, 440ml cans, and in cask at 4.2% ABV.
