Worthing’s second town-wide tap takeover will take place from 14th to 16th April, with 17 independent venues championing independent breweries.
Last year’s inaugural tap takeover saw the 15 venues involved see increased footfall. It also raised more than £110 for Worthing Food Bank.
Each of the 17 breweries involved are all different from last year. This means Worthing can continue to champion the less well known alongside world-renowned breweries, all passionately independent.
“Worthing has become a secret, seaside craft beer metropolis,” said Gemma Clegg, co-owner of Worthing’s award-winning shop and taproom Beer No Evil. “It’s been amazing to see it grow, and we’re excited to share it with more and more people.
“Last year’s tap takeover was a huge success. Worthing’s independent community has a great collaborative spirit — and the tap takeover is one of the best examples of it.”
Beer lovers will find new takes on old favourites, and those embracing the weird and wonderful will have plenty to try, too, from rich barrel-aged stouts to Belgian-inspired ales and mouth-watering sours.
Emma O’Neill-Parsons, from the soon-to-be-launched The Tasting Room, said: “Worthing is such an important destination for the craft beer scene, and the tap takeover is an amazing initiative which reinforces that fact.
“As a new business in the area, we are excited to be taking part in a weekend-long festival showcasing some of the UK’s best craft breweries.”
