Triple Point Brewing, in Sheffield city centre, has hosted an art exhibition featuring designs from students at Sheffield Hallam University.

Undergraduates studying for a BA illustration were tasked with producing a design inspired by the brewery’s best-selling and award-winning beer, Debut.

The design brief was co-set by George Brook, sales manager at Triple Point Brewing. He said: “The creativity amongst the art departments at Hallam is incredible.

“We love a collaborative piece here at Triple Point, particularly those showcasing the best of what Sheffield has to offer. So, it felt right to reach out to them to see if they’d be interested in teaming up for a university project and to gain well-deserved exposure.”

The exhibition, which took place at the brewery last week, displayed more than 70 pieces of digitally created art throughout the brewery and bar.

“We’re really excited to have partnered with Triple Point Brewing for an illustration module this year,” said Jo Breese, senior lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University.

“Not only is a beer can an interesting context to design for, but partnering with a local brewery gave our students an opportunity to gain live client experience and a portfolio piece they can refer to after they graduate.

“Holding the exhibition at the brewery was the best bit. It added an extra energy to the project and allowed students to show off their hard work in the very place their project beer was brewed.”

Favourite designs are expected to feature on cans sold across Sheffield and nationwide in months to come.

The exhibition came less than a week after Triple Point won three awards for Debut at the Rotherham CAMRA Awards.
The same brew also won best IPA at the Rotherham CAMRA Awards in 2020.
