Newcastle-based Alpha Delta Brewing has announced that it will be launching its first ever permanent cask ale, to add to its core range of beers.
Roca is a 4.2% ABV double-dry-hopped pale ale brewed with a combination of Citra, Comet, and Mosaic hops. There are aromas and flavours of grapefruit and stonefruits in what is a very sessionable pint. The beer is unfiltered and unfined, so has a natural haze and is vegan friendly.
The North East brewer has had a number of requests for its beers in cask, following limited special releases, but felt now was the right time to launch one in its core range.
“We are really excited to launch Roca as part of our permanent cask range,” said Alpha Delta founder and head brewer Ross Holland.
“It is something we definitely needed to add to our beer selection as each time we have produced a guest beer in cask it has always been really well received.
“Our recent Sirens series of guest cask beers sold out in a couple of weeks! More of our customers have asked for our beers in cask and it is great to see such a demand for this.”
Ross added: “We have been working hard behind the scenes to develop this beer. We really wanted something that represented what we are about. Full of flavour, but not too challenging. A pint that has you coming back to the bar for another! We really feel this could be a staple on bars, not just in the North East but across the UK.”
Roca will officially launch at the start of April, with the beer pouring first at the iconic Bridge Tavern bar in Newcastle, Foleys Tap House (Leeds), Hope & Union (Stockton), The Ship Isis (Sunderland), and the Three Legged Mare and Last Drop Inn (both York) on Friday, 7th April.
