The Heritage Brewing Company, in Burton upon Trent, has brewed a special batch of its Sole Survivor ale to honour cartoonist Bill Tidy, who passed away recently.

Sole Survivor (4.3% ABV) is sold in various pubs around the country and its pumpclip features a cartoon of a man stranded at sea but still holding his pint!
Bill Tidy was a well-known cartoonist whose work was published in national newspapers, including CAMRA’s What’s Brewing, and more than 70 books. He also appeared on television shows such as Countdown and Countryfile.
“We’re honoured to have Bill Tidy’s cartoon representing one of our ales, and were sad to hear of his passing,” said Mike Stickland, owner of Heritage Brewing Company.
“He leaves a lasting legacy of humour through his cartoons that will continue to be enjoyed by many.”
The Heritage Brewing Company uses state-of-the-art equipment and modern brewing techniques to produce a range of beers that give a nod to brewing history.
