Shepherd Neame has been named as the official beer of the University Boat Race for the second year. The race takes place on Sunday, 26th March.
Male and female boat crews from the universities of Oxford and Cambridge will battle it out on the River Thames in London. More than 250,000 spectators are expected to attend on the banks of the river and there will be live coverage on the BBC.
Visitors will be able to enjoy a range of beers and ciders from Shepherd Neame’s portfolio, including Spitfire lager, Whitstable Bay Blonde Lager, the original Thai lager Singha, Orchard View cider, and Truly Hard Seltzer.
“The Boat Race is the epitome of British style, sporting excellence and tradition, and we are delighted to once again be the official beer and supplier for this prestigious event,” said Jonathan Neame, chief executive of Shepherd Neame.
Siobhan Cassidy, chair of The Boat Race Company Ltd, added: “We are delighted to welcome Britain’s oldest brewer, Shepherd Neame, as our official beer supplier of the Boat Race. Their passion for excellence matches that of the Boat Race and its crews. Come to our fan parks to sample the very best the Boat Race has to offer.”
