Norfolk-based Duration Brewing is to release a new core range of five beers, available year round in keg and can, alongside five seasonal releases.

Duration core

The core range will comprise:

  • End Up (3% ABV), a crisp, citrus table pale;
  • Good Times (4.2% ABV), an American light lager;
  • Another Day Done (4.4% ABV), a juicy mango and citrus pale;
  • Turtles (5.5% ABV), a tropical, juicy IPA; and
  • Bet The Farm Fermenta Range (5.2% ABV), a vinous, topical, spicy farmhouse pale.

“Our core range has a lager, two pales (table and a session), and an IPA, plus we added a farmhouse pale brewed over in our barrel store,” said head brewer Derek Bates. “Together, these perfectly represent Duration’s love of fresh beers and wild ales, made to reflect our beautiful farmhouse setting.”

He added: “We have seen a shift in drinking habits of late, moving away from perennial newness to placing value on a consistently delivered core range. I enjoy brewing and drinking across a diverse range of beer styles. Experimentation and creativity that are undeniably at the heart of craft brewing, but some drinkers can be put off by too much choice.

“Where you are new to craft or an experienced drinker, there is a beautiful simplicity to picking up a six-pack and knowing exactly what you’re getting, and that’s what our core beers are for.”

To celebrate the arrival of the new core range, Duration will be giving first pours of Another Day Done, alongside the rest of the core range, both at the brewery, across venues in Norfolk, and beyond on Friday, 17th March. All core beers will be available either on draught or in the fridges in can and bottle.

Duration Day Done
Sean Lynch’s beautiful artwork for core pale Another Day Done

“The Another Day Done launch event will give people the opportunity to come out and try the full core range,” said Duration managing director Miranda Hudson. “Artist Shaun Lynch has really outdone himself on the artwork, with a romantic and beautiful scene depicting a day in the life at the brewery. Hops and barley adorn the historic stone barn at twilight, with two brewers closing up for the day. Light spills out from the barn doors revealing the glow from the brewhouse inside.

“As for the others in our core, Turtles, our most popular beer, had to stay. With a shift to lower-strength styles we will make Turtles our IPA. Another Day Done is a brand new juicy pale ale joining the line up. Good Times American light lager and End Up table pale are our lower-strength options, and Good Times will also be available to trade in 50-litre kegs which is a first for us.

“Bet The Farm farmhouse pale is a wild card from our Fermata range, over in the barrel store. Being mixed fermentation, it is more nuanced, and we are excited to have it to the pack.”

Duration seasonal

The seasonal line-up comprises:

  • Cuttin’ Grass (4.5% ABV), an Italian pilsner;
  • Dripping Pitch (6.7% ABV), a West Coast IPA;
  • Harvest Bier (5.5% ABV), a malty dry Märzen;
  • Ebb & Flow (6.5% ABV), an American stout; and
  • Fortitude (8.5% ABV), an imperial stout.

“The seasonal beers have some bigger hitters in there — three are over 6.5% in strength, while two are more session drinkers,” said Miranda. “All will be released in time for the season’s change, and luckily we have managed to ensure all seasonals are available to trade now too.

“They include an Italian pilsner for spring, a West Coast IPA for summer, a Märzen for autumn, and two stouts — one American and one imperial — for winter.”
