Arran Brewery’s Guid Ale is flying the Scottish flag in Westminster by being the featured ale in the Strangers Bar in the House of Commons.

It’s all thanks to Patricia Gibson, MP for North Ayrshire and Arran, who recommended Arran’s Guid Ale to those behind the House of Commons guest ale programme.
“I was delighted to sponsor a guest beer from Arran Brewery in the House of Commons, and welcome Mr Gerald Michaluk, owner of the brewery, to raise a glass of its award-winning popular Guid Ale, a Robert Burns beer,” said the MP
Guid Ale is a celebration of a song written by Robert Burns in 1795, Guid Ale Keeps The Heart Aboon, and is one of the core range of Arran Beers. It’s 3.8% ABV sesssion bitter, with citrus aromas.
Gerald Michaluk said: “We are indebted to Patricia Gibson MP for recommending our beer, and it is great to see it, in pride of place, in the Westminster bar. Patricia also welcomed us to the House of Commons to see our beer and even pulled the perfect pint, having worked in a bar in her youth.
“As the SNP’s spokesperson for the Environment, Food, and Rural Affairs, she is very well informed about the issues facing the brewing industry, rural Scotland, and farming. It is good to know North Ayrshire and Arran’s interests are being looked after by such a knowledgeable and active MP.
“The Arran Brewery will be taking advantage of this opportunity to expand its business south of the border, where, according to the bar manager, Anthony, the beer is being very well received and is selling very well.”
