Brew//LDN, the UK’s largest craft beer festival, has announced a discount offer for female-founded breweries and drinks brands in celebration of Women’s History Month.
Throughout March, female-founded breweries and drinks brands will receive a 15% discount on stand prices at the festival.
The beer industry has historically been male dominated, and female representation has been significantly lower than in other sectors. In 2020, the British Beer & Pub Association (BBPA) released a report showing that women make up only 22% of the beer and pub sector’s workforce. The report also found that women are under-represented in senior positions, with only 17% of board members and 7% of chief executives being women.
On top of that, a 2019 survey by he UK beer and pubs sector trade association, The Beer Alliance also found that 68% of women said they felt patronised by the way beer is marketed to them.
“We’re delighted to offer this discount to female-founded breweries and drinks brands in recognition of Women’s History Month,” said Toby Chantrell, one of the founders of Brew//LDN. “We want to support and celebrate the women who have made an impact in the beer, cider, and drinks industry, and to encourage more women to enter and thrive in this field.”
The festival, which will take place on 5th and 6th May at Printworks, will feature a variety of craft beers from some of the best names in the UK. The festival also offers a platform for artisan ciders, independent spirits, and premium street food vendors.
