The Castle, in Farringdon, London — a Mitchells and Butlers pub with royal connections — has re-opened after a major revamp throughout.
Regulars will recognise the familiar faces of the Castle team behind a refreshed and modernised bar. Uptairs, guests will be welcomed into a new and improved lounge bar for dining and private hire, featuring all-new soft furnishings, and a sleek updated bar.
The Castle is well known for its royal connections. The three brass balls that signify a pawnbroker’s licence can still be seen outside the pub, the licence having been once issued to the landlord by King George IV during an evening of gainless entertainment when the King ran out of cash betting on cockfighting.
Along with a new food menu, guests can see an extensive drinks menu, boasting a wide selection of craft beers, ciders, and cocktails.
“The last seven years have been a journey for me in embedding into this diverse community,” said general manager Jason Robinson. “It’s great to see the area come back alive after the last few years, and with a refreshed look The Castle is back to being that prime meeting place for both new guests and our strong fanbase of regulars.”
Following the refurbishment, and significant investment, ten new jobs have been created.
