Butcombe Brewing Co’s Butcombe Original has broken into the UK’s top ten on-trade cask ales, according to a report published by CGA.
The beer already has the highest rate of sale in the South West of the UK, and is now one of the most popular ales in pubs, bars, and restaurants in the UK in the past 12 months.
“We’re delighted that Butcombe Original has been recognised as one of the most popular beers in the country,” said Marc McGuigan, group managing director, brewing and distribution, at Butcombe parent Liberation Group.
“Original has long been a favourite in the South West and has a very loyal following, but it’s great to see that it’s now being drunk in pubs across the country.”
The report publisher, CGA, works with food and drink suppliers, hospitality operators, trade bodies, and financial institutions, providing market measurement and expertise across all parts of the on-premise route to market.
Marc added: “Our brewing team, mixing traditional and tried and tested techniques, works tirelessly to produce a high-quality range of cask ales. From speaking to our customers, we know that Original travels well,so it’s great to see customers across the country enjoying it more and more.”
