Harrogate Beer Week got under way yesterday, and continues today with a talk by beer writer and broadcaster Pete Brown, on his new book about working men’s clubs.
The 2022 programme features more than 35 events across seven days, including:
- seafood and beer pairings
- a display of beer books at Harrogate Library
- a ‘bring your own’ bottle share night
- beer pong tournaments
- charcuterie and beer in the tipi at Cedar Court Hotel on the Stray
- a blind beer tasting
- an evening with local brewers
- a Pomona Island tap takeover, with food from Paradise Tap and Taco
- cheese fondue with barrel-aged beers from Cold Bath Brewing
- a battle of the (Leeds) breweries
- a beers and hops talk and tasting
- a drop-in beer chat for those who want to explore beer and ask all those burning questions
- a brewery open weekend and tour,
- plus quizzes, other tap takeovers, a range of live music, and a drink and draw event
The official Harrogate Beer Week beer is High Five, a session cask pale brewed at Rooster’s Brewing Co with Cold Bath Brewing, Daleside, Harrogate Brewing Co, and Turning Point. Find out where it’s stocked here.
Commemorative glasses are available at a number of venues across town for just £5 each, with £1 from every sale going to local charity, Henshaws.
