Skinner’s Brewery, in Truro, Cornwall, is relaunching its popular tours after a break of more than two years.

Brewery co-director, Steve Skinner, said: “The tours were really the first thing to go in March 2020, as we tried to limit any unnecessary risk for both our staff and the public.

“We never dreamed back then that it would be such a long road to recovery, but this summer we’re thrilled to welcome visitors back into the heart of the operation once again.”

Pre-booked tours resume from Monday, 25th July, and will take place three times a day, at 10.30am, 1.30pm, and 3.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Tours last an hour.

Steve said: “People are always fascinated to understand how the raw ingredients they see in our stores are turned into the different styles of beers we make. They can watch our experienced brewers in action and ask our knowledgeable tour guides questions along the way.

“We’ve been brewing on this site by the river in Truro since 2002, so there’s a lot of history to soak up, too.”

The tours, which cost £20 per person, finish with a tutored sampling session in the brewery’s tasting room. The tour price also entitles guests to 10% off beer and merchandise at the Tap Yard Bar, and 10% off at Skinner’s city pub The Old Ale House, for the day of their visit.

The return of brewery tours is just the latest step in Skinner’s plan to make its riverside HQ a busy community space, with the Tap Yard Bar regularly drawing a crowd for food pop-ups and acoustic sessions.

Events are planned to launch new beers during the summer and beyond, and the brewery has indoor and outdoor spaces available for private hire to businesses, sports clubs, and community groups.
