The beer has been infused with cucumber and lime, to fit in with the brief The Mariners team set. They wanted an IPA that would serve as the ideal pairing to The Dog’s Pollock, one of the pub’s signature dishes. It comprises comprising a crisp pollock hot dog, pickled cucumber, triple mustard, dill, parmesan, and salty skinny fries.
From the initial brainstorming session, the team set to work discussing and sampling beers of varying bitterness and colour. The resulting beer is a a 4.7% ABV IPA with the addition of chopped cucumber and lime peel, to give it a fresh and zesty flavour.
Land and Sea IPA is brewed with Citra, Mosaic, and Magnum hops that give an extra blast of citrus. The base of lager and wheat malts provides a suitable balance.
Sharp’s Brewery head brewer, Aaron McClure, said: “We have had lots of fun making Land and Sea IPA. It has been a really enjoyable project and we love loved working with The Mariners’ team again, who came to the brewery to help us brew and really got stuck in.
“Land and Sea IPA is best enjoyed with the Dogs Pollock at The Mariners, of course, but if you are not going to be in Cornwall this summer, then it is available while stocks last from our online shop.”
