Two breweries are among five businesses coming together for a block party next weekend in East London.

Block party

The party will celebrate the completion of development works funded by Waltham Forest Council on Lockwood Way Estate. There will be live music all day, ranging from brass and folk to New Orleans funk. It is being curated by Continental Drifts.

Taking part are:

Hackney Brewery

Hackney, Wild Card, and Renegade’s taprooms will all be open, serving their own selections of craft beer, wines, cocktails, and spirits. The weekend will serve as the grand opening of Renegade’s E17 Taproom.

Each taproom will have street food traders serving all day, including Fin & Flounder Oysters, Chicken & Gotchu, and a burger pop-up from The Leytonstone Tavern.

Wild Card Brewery

The event will be completely family friendly, with kids’ activities including face painting. The event starts at noon and will close at 11pm.

The council-funded improvements to the estate will be officially launched with a ceremony at the start of the day. These include new trees and greenery, signage for each business, bike racks, street seating, and covered areas.
